Tara is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), holds a master’s in counselling psychology, and a PhD in Public Health.
Tara works with adults and couples. She is experienced working with clients dealing with a variety of issues such as depression, stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, family conflict, infidelity, immigration/cross cultural challenges, work life balance, grief, relationship deterioration, decision making, and academic or career distress. For therapeutic techniques she draws on various approaches such as CBT, DBT, Adlerian therapy, Solution focused therapy and Narrative therapy as she sees fit to cater to the unique needs of each of her clients.
Through a collaborative and strength-based approach Tara’s intention is to help her clients move forward, find solutions, gain new perspectives, and find inner peace. She offers tools, coping strategies and sometimes suggests exercises outside of sessions to support her clients in their healing. Her aim is to equip her clients with long term strategies that they can use in various situations.
